President-Principal Model
Saint John Vianney High School is structured using the President-Principal Model of administration. Over the last 30 years, many U.S. Catholic secondary schools have moved to this model. It features shared authority and division of administrative responsibility. The management, improvement, and promotion of Catholic school facilities and the education the school provides, have become increasingly difficult using autonomous management.

The president's role is to oversee the school's finances, development, strategic planning, marketing, and grant writing. They also supervise community relations along with the campus buildings and grounds. They manage the overall direction of the school.
​
The principal's role is to focus on the students, teachers, and parents and their integration with the school's academic programs. They manage educational and athletic programs. They ensure that the curriculum is rigorous and that the faculty implements it with teaching strategies that will provide an educationally sound environment for student achievement.

​At Saint John Vianney High School, our students and their families come first. We offer students choices in their academic journey. We work in partnership with each student and their family to guide their academic, spiritual, and personal growth over the four years they attend SJV.

Each person who works at SJV is here to support our students and help them on their path to success. Our curriculum is tailored to help every learner reach their potential.

Saint John Vianney High School continues to seek new ways to challenge our students. Our Business Academy launched in September 2022, and as of Fall 2023, we are the only Catholic school in New Jersey to have an Air Force Junior ROTC program.
​
We provide students with a real college experience while in high school, ensuring they are prepared for the future.

Advisory Council
Saint John Vianney High School has had an Advisory Council for over thirty years to unite distinguished people from various backgrounds and occupations and establish a volunteer leadership council to assist SJV in fulfilling its mission.
The council exists solely in an advisory capacity and has no responsibility or authority with respect to the daily administration and operation of the school.
