Saint John Vianney High School is proud to announce the appointment of Cara Marcoux as the new Head Field Hockey Coach. With an extensive field hockey background as a player and coach, as well as a strong background in player development, Marcoux is set to lead the program into a new era of success.

"I am excited about the opportunity to lead the school's competitive field hockey program and work in alignment with its mission and values," said Marcoux. "I am eager to bring my passion for the sport, coaching experience, and commitment to player development to Saint John Vianney, and I look forward to leading the team."

Marcoux brings an impressive coaching background to Saint John Vianney with experience at the collegiate and high school levels. Currently serving as the Director of Field Hockey at Centercourt of Marlboro, she has successfully overseen the planning and execution of programs for athletes of all skill levels. Her leadership experience includes managing a dedicated team of coaches and creating training programs to improve players' skills, teamwork, and game strategy.

Marcoux's previous coaching roles include Assistant Coach at Stevens Institute of Technology and Varsity Head Coach at Hackensack High School. Her educational background includes a Master's Degree in Curriculum & Instruction and a Bachelor's Degree in Secondary Education from the University of Connecticut, where she was also a member of the field hockey team and later served as a Graduate Assistant.

With multiple accolades throughout her playing career, including selections to the All-BIG EAST and All-Mideast Region teams, Marcoux understands the commitment it takes to excel in athletics. "My time at the University of Connecticut, where I had the privilege of playing in the Final Four and starting for all four years, has deeply influenced my approach to coaching. Competing at such a high level has given me invaluable insights into what it takes to succeed both individually and as part of a team." Marcoux's coaching philosophy emphasizes a positive, inclusive team culture that encourages sportsmanship, skill development, and passion for the game, which closely aligns with the mission of Saint John Vianney School.

"We are thrilled to welcome Cara to the Saint John Vianney family," Russell Gartz, SJV Interim Athletic Supervisor, said. "Her championship pedigree on the high school and college level will be a tremendous example and have a great impact on our student-athletes. She will be a great example for our young ladies on and off the field as we continue to rebuild our program."
